General Club Rules
1. Parking is limited to the designated spaces in the parking lot. Parking on unpaved and grassy areas is prohibited. Exceptions will be made for special events and swim meets.
2. Members must sign in using their name and bond number with the staff at the front gate.
3. In order to admit a guest, members must present their guest pass and their guest(s) must sign in separately. View Guest Pass Policy.
4. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests and should review with them the posted rules. Adult family members have the ultimate responsibility for their children’s guests.
5. Children, under the age of 10, must be accompanied by an adult member who remains at the pool.
6. Children, ages 10 to 14 years, may enter the Club facilities unaccompanied only if they demonstrate to the guards their ability to swim two lengths of the pool and tread water for two minutes.
7. Guards may eject any member or guest for inappropriate behavior.
8. Running is prohibited on all concrete areas and the adjacent grass.
9. Glass containers are strictly prohibited inside the gate at any time.
10. Food and drink in paper or plastic cups may be consumed on the outer peripheral concrete deck surrounding the pool.
11. Adults age 21 and up are permitted to bring limited quantities of alcohol; however, usage must be discreet and behavior must be kept in control as is appropriate for a family-oriented environment. Alcohol may not be consumed in the pool or on the concrete deck inside the chair line along the outer edge of the concrete deck. A lifeguard may prohibit someone who seems intoxicated from entering the pool, and we ask that you politely respect their judgement. Absolutely no glass containers are permitted.
12. The Club facilities shall be kept free of trash. It is the responsibility of each member to police the area he/she has been using before leaving the premises.
13. It is the responsibility of the members and their guests to help keep the dressing rooms neat and clean.
14. Access to the pool office and snack bar areas are off limits to unauthorized individuals.
15. Smoking & vaping are not permitted inside the fenced in areas of the pool.
16. Pets are not permitted within the fenced enclosure including the tennis courts.
17. Please be cognizant of what time the pool closes each night. Members and guests should be prepared to leave the premises by closing time.
18. With the installation of the water cooler in the member room, we ask children to be accompanied by an adult when using since it has a cold and hot water feature.
Pool Area Rules
1. No one is permitted in the pool unless the lifeguards are on duty.
2. No person having any communicable illness, skin disease, fungus, or eye, nose, or throat infection shall use the pool.
3. Bathing suits are required for pool use. No cut-offs or other versions of street clothes are permitted in pool.
4. Disposable diapers are not permitted in the main pool.
5. Anyone using the diving board or slide must be able to demonstrate to the guards their ability to swim one length of the pool unaided.
6. Diving or jumping into the pool is permitted only from the board and in the deep end of the pool.
7. The diving/sliding area is reserved for the use of divers/sliders only. After diving or sliding, swim immediately to the nearest ladder.
8. Only one person is permitted on a slide, diving board, or ladder at a time. Do not enter the water until the area is clear.
9. Additional rules posted at the diving/sliding area will be strictly enforced.
10. The baby pool is to be used by children 5 years and younger only, and each child must have an adult supervising him/her inside the baby pool area.
11. Children in the three-foot, roped-off area may use small instructional flotation devices as long as an adult is in the water supervising the child.
12. No balls, bats, paddles, boats, floats, or any other gear may be used in or near the pool (Noodle Nights excluded).
Adult Swim
1. Twenty minutes every hour on the hour from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. there will be an adult lap swim. The manager or guard in charge, at his/her discretion, may alter adult swim times and/or the restricted swim areas.
2. Only persons 18 years of age and older are permitted in the main pool area.
3. Children, up to and including 3 years of age, accompanied by a parent may use the three-foot, roped-off area of the pool during the adult swim for swimming instruction only. Only half of this area should be utilized when adult waders are present.
4. Persons not swimming are not to sit on the edge of the pool with their feet in the water.
5. Adults not swimming laps should move to the sides of the pool to leave swimming lanes open for swimmers.
Tennis Court Rules
1. The tennis court gate should be locked during and after use when the Club is closed.
2. Only class participants are permitted on the tennis courts during class times.
3. Only tennis shoes are permitted on the courts (no sandals, etc.)

- After School Swim Team Practice (weekdays May 29th-June 5th, 4:30pm-6:45pm)
- Time Trials – Thursday June 12th
- Swim Meets – Tuesday June 17th (Home vs. Crestview), Wednesday June 25th (rescheduled JCC meet), Thursday June 26th (Home vs. Elks), Tuesday July 1st (Home vs. Shellcrest), and Thursday July 10th (Home vs. Lane).
- Swim Team Banquet – July 16th – Pool closes at 4:00pm
- Adult Party – August 22 -Pool closes at 4:30pm

Silverside Swim Club is nestled in a beautiful park-like setting in North Wilmington.
Facilities & Amenities
The club offers swimming in a newly renovated pool with a water park type slide, a diving board, and a smaller slide in the shallow section. There is also an enclosed baby pool with a mushroom fountain adjacent to the main pool.
- Want to learn how to swim or become a better swimmer? Our staff of lifeguards is available for private lessons for a small fee.
- The club also offers a youth swim team. The Swordfish Swim Team has enjoyed great success, winning the North Brandywine Swim League championship multiple years in a row.
- Tennis & pickle ball is also available at our newly renovated on-site tennis courts, and low cost tennis lessons can be scheduled for both children and adults.
- Volleyball, basketball, and shuffleboard courts are available, as well as a playground for the kids along with a gaga pit. Enjoy ping pong and foosball in the team room too!
- Hungry??? Our full service snack bar has an extensive menu. Enjoy lunch or dinner or just grab a quick treat!
The facility offers many amenities for the entire family.
Pool Party Scheduling & Fees
All pool parties must be scheduled through the Pool Manager at the front desk with a Pool Party Request Form. Pool Parties will not be scheduled until the pool opens. Please do not email the Board regarding pool parties.
- All non-member attendees must pay a $10.00 guest fee per guest is using check, $11 if paying by credit card, even if those guests are not swimming. Payment must be made by check or credit card. No cash will be accepted.
- Pool Party Request forms are available in the pool office and at the link below. Please fill out and return with your payment to the pool office.
Guidelines for Parties
- Parties should limited to 25 guests (does not include those attending who are already members).
- Parties will be scheduled first come, first serve.
- Please schedule no later than 10 days in advance.
- Parties should be limited to no more than 4 hours.
- Parties should end by 8:30pm.
- Payment must be made the day of the party (check only).
- Parties are weather dependent. If the pool is closed due to weather, you will have to talk to a manager to reschedule.
